• Affiliation Information: gym name and location, school name and location, mutual connections (if provided)
• Profile Information: bio, fitness goals, experience level
• User Content: photos, messages, posts, workout data, workout schedules, and other content you choose to submit
• Workout Data: exercise names, sets, reps, weights, workout dates, workout plans, rest day schedules, notes
• Communications: messages sent between users through the App

1.2 Information Collected Through App Use

• App usage and interaction data
• Device and performance data necessary for app functionality
• Metadata associated with user content (such as upload timestamps)
• Crash reports and error logs
• Subscription Data: If you upgrade to Gymspot Premium, we track your subscription status to unlock features. Payment processing is handled securely by your device's app store (Apple or Google) and managed via RevenueCat. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card details.

We do not intentionally collect or track precise real-time location data.

• To create and manage user accounts
• To operate, maintain, and improve the App
• To enable social features, including messaging, workout scheduling, and content sharing
• To recommend potential connections based on shared gym, school, and mutual friends
• To personalize the user experience

Friend recommendations are generated using automated processes based on overlapping profile information and user activity.

3. Social Features and Visibility

Gymspot is a social fitness application. Certain information may be visible to other users depending on your settings and interactions.

• Public to All Gymspot Users: Profile photo, name, username, fitness goal, experience level, gym/school (if provided)
• Visible to Friends Only: Full workout schedule, workout completion status, detailed gym/school information, bio
• Private: Email address, password (encrypted), private messages (only visible to participants)

You are responsible for the content you choose to share and the users with whom you connect.

4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed in the following circumstances:

4.1 Between Users

• Profile information and posts may be shared with friends you accept
• Friend recommendations may display limited profile details

4.2 Service Providers

We use third-party service providers, including Supabase, Google Places API, and RevenueCat, to support backend services. These providers process data solely to perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.

4.3 Legal and Safety Reasons

• Comply with applicable laws or legal processes
• Respond to lawful requests from public authorities
• Protect the rights, safety, or property of Gymspot, our users, or others
• Investigate potential violations of our terms or misuse of the App

5. User Safety and Responsibility

Gymspot is a platform designed to connect users with workout partners. However, users must exercise caution and take responsibility for their own safety.

5.1 What Gymspot Does NOT Do

• We do not verify user identities or conduct background checks.
• We are not responsible for any interactions, meetings, or incidents that occur between users.

5.2 Safety Recommendations

Do: Meet in public places, inform a friend of your plans, trust your instincts, use the App's messaging feature first.

Do Not: Share personal information prematurely, meet in private locations, or ignore warning signs.

5.3 Reporting Concerns

Block the user immediately, report the incident to us at support.gymspot@icloud.com, and contact local law enforcement if you feel threatened.

6. Data Retention

We retain user information only for as long as necessary. Workout logs are retained indefinitely unless manually deleted. Deleted data may persist in backups for up to 30 days before permanent deletion.

7. User Control and Choices

• Edit or update profile information at any time
• Control post and photo visibility settings
• Delete content, messages, or workout data
• Delete their account (Settings → Delete Account)

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable safeguards including encrypted storage, secure HTTPS connections, and access controls. However, no method of transmission is completely secure. Use of the App is at your own risk.

9. Children's Privacy

Gymspot is not intended for individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
